Infinity Arts Foundation was co-founded by couple Matt Brown, writer, director and filmmaker and Melissa Herrington, contemporary abstract artist. The two identified the need for the foundation following their unique, individual journeys in their respective disciplines, that led to a shared vision that is now the foundation.
Following Matt’s widely acclaimed feature film, The Man Who Knew Infinity, starring Dev Patel and Jeremy Irons, he learned of the real life, remarkable experiences of visionaries in S.T.E.A.M who overcame challenges to their progress in service of the specific mission. Matt recognized the value and need of developing their stories through his favorite medium, film.
Melissa’ paintings communicate a contemplative and optimistic feeling that aim to remind the viewer of the unfolding possibilities life presents to us –a direct correlation to her own artistic journey. In addition to receiving her MFA from renowned, Otis College of Art and Design, over the course of Melissa’s career, she has benefitted from attending various artist in residency programs throughout the world. She credits the solitude and community she experienced while there as a factor in her success. As a result, she became inspired to build on the traditional one-discipline artist in residency concept by expanding it to include art, film and S.T.E.A.M.
Matt and Melissa’s goal and vision for Infinity Arts Foundation is to be a catalyst for greater exploration and development for filmmakers, artists and scientists alike to discover, share and interpret powerful S.T.E.A.M related narratives that make up the world in which we live.
